Estate Planning

Comprehensive estate planning is simply good sense. Though many individuals feel that they can make do with a simple will, they may have underestimated the complexity of their various assets, as well as the powers granted by estate planning document. Estate planning as a whole is often misunderstood, or perhaps misconstrued. The general public understands that estate planning can help them guide the distribution of their estate assets, but additional protections granted by a comprehensive estate plan, such as power of attorney, medical directives, shielding assets from creditors, and more, are still relatively unknown or misunderstood without the guidance of a New York estate planning attorney.

Attorney Jae H. Lee is committed to helping individuals develop estate plans that are suitable for their unique needs — from those with standard planning concerns, to those who have complex concerns. Contact our firm today for more information about our services.

We Offer a Range of Estate Planning Services

We offer our clients a full suite of estate planning services, with a range of advanced documents that are customized to the particular needs of each client. No family is the same, and we believe effective estate planning documents must be tailored to each client.

Our drafting and planning services include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Advanced Directives
  • Business Planning
  • Emergency Documents
  • Income Tax Planning
  • Medical Directives
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Will & Trusts.

Here at the Law Office of Jae H. Lee, PLLC, we are well-equipped to draft and execute airtight estate planning documents, as we have also represented clients in estate administrative and litigation conflicts. The litigation experience gives us additional insight into the difficulties that our clients (and their rightful heirs) could encounter at a later date, and we strive to avoid ambiguity at every stage of the estate planning process.

Baseline Flat Rates and Dynamic Pricing

Many prospective estate planning clients have concerns about pricing and whether the services will be “worthwhile” given their particular planning needs. Though it is our belief that comprehensive estate planning is beneficial for most individuals — and particularly high net worth individuals, business owners, and others with unique or otherwise complex planning concerns — we understand that clients may feel hesitant about moving forward without a full cost assessment.

Here at the Law Office of Jae H. Lee, PLLC, we offer flat rate pricing for certain baseline estate planning documents, and we work closely with clients who have more complex issues to develop a customized fee arrangement more suitable to their needs.

Our flat rates include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:

  • Standard Will — $750
  • Complex Will — $1,000
  • Power of Attorney — $750
  • Health Care Proxy/Living Will — $250.

Estate planning may seem expensive at first glance, but it’s important to consider the ramifications of a poorly-executed plan, an inadequate plan, or even no plan at all. In some cases, the consequences cannot be measured in purely financial terms — for example, if you are rendered incapacitated in an accident, a basic Living Will could spell the difference between receiving directed medical care and receiving unwanted medical care.
